Breaking News: Stephen Strasburg Placed on the 10 Day Injured List

April 18, 2021 @ 10:56 am EST: According to Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post: Paolo Espino will start for the Nationals in their series finale against the Diamondbacks. To those asking why it’s not Austin Voth, he’s been in the bullpen and made back-to-back appearances on Tuesday and Wednesday.


This morning, the Washington Nationals placed RHP Stephen Strasburg on the 10-day Injured with right shoulder inflammation; retroactive to April 15.

Strasburg was supposed to start in today’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Strasburg was looking for his first win of the 2021 season after allowing eight runs (seven earned) on as many hits (including three home runs) over four innings on Tuesday against the Cardinals.
