In his pre-game press conference, Dave Martinez announced that RHP Aníbal Sánchez is scheduled to pitch in a rehab start tomorrow in Rochester with the Triple-A Red Wings. The goal for this rehab start is to get Sánchez to pitch four innings, and throw around 60 pitches.
Sánchez, was part of the roster for the World Series-winning Washington Nationals in 2019, pitched for the Nationals in 2020, returned from a year off, and signed with the team again in 2022. Sánchez has been on the 60-day IL due to a neck issue since shortly before his first scheduled start of the year.
