Here is the latest around the Rochester Red Wings for September 25, 2022.

Leading today’s Rochester Red Wings Report: Rochester finishes the 2022 season with a series against the Worcester Red Sox.

With the Sunday afternoon game against the Buffalo Bisons being canceled, the Rochester Red Wings will face the Worcester Red Sox for the final three games of the 2022 season in Rochester.

The team has yet to name their starting pitchers for the first game of the series; however, since the team did not play on Sunday afternoon and RHP Joan Adon was set to pitch, it might be possible that Adon might get the call to start the series against the Red Sox.

If Rochester sends RHP Joan Adon to the mound tomorrow, he hopes to win his second consecutive series for the first time since June 5.

On Wednesday, the Rochester Red Wings are planning on sending RHP Franklyn Kilome, who has a record of 2-8 with an 8.60 ERA, against LHP Chris Murphy, who is 3-6, 5.17 ERA.

The team has yet to name their starting pitchers for the first game of the series; however, since the team did not play on Sunday afternoon and RHP Joan Adon was set to pitch, it might be extremely possible that Adon might get the call to start the series against the Red Sox.

On Saturday, the Rochester Red Wings wrapped up their road schedule for the 2022 season with a 7-4 win over the Bisons.

The Rochester Red Wings opened the scoring in the top of the first on a sacrifice fly by 1B John Nogowski, scoring CF Andrew Stevenson. The 2-4 performance from Stevenson extended his highest season hit total.

The lead would not last long, as Buffalo would plate a run in the second to tie the score. The Red Wings and Bisons would each score a run in the third, making it a 2-2 game. RHP Patrick Murphy would finish his outing pitching 4.0 innings, giving up two runs on six hits, walking one, and striking out a pair.

In the top of the fifth, 3B Jake Alu would put Rochester up by a score of 3-2 on his 11th home run. The third baseman Alu has reached base safely in 18-straight games dating back to 9/4 and picked up multiple hits in 10 of those 14 games. Additionally, Alu has found success against the Toronto affiliates, bringing his career batting average against Toronto affiliates to .322 (20-for-62).

Stealing bases…

Rochester’s 153 stolen bases as a team is the franchise’s second most in a season, 27 off the record of 180, which they accomplished in 1944.

The Rochester Red Wings’ 12 stolen bases are the second most in a single series this season and are just one off the highest-series total of 13, which they did in their June series versus Syracuse. The Red Wings 12 stolen bags in five games put them on pace to record 14.5 stolen bases this series.

Saturday night’s game also marked the first time the Wings have stolen multiple bases while also being caught more than once in a game in a single contest.

Adon’s recent stats.…

In his previous start in the series opener, the 24-year-old worked five innings for the fourth consecutive outing, surrendering just one earned on two hits. Through four starts in September, Adon has won twice while posting a 1.77 ERA (20.1 IP, 4 ER).

Through the end of August, Adon had a 7.41 ERA (17.0 IP, 14 ER) in five starts with the Wings.
