Good Morning, Washington Nationals fans! According to Jon Heyman, MLB Insider, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, but it looks like RHP Stephen Strasburg is out for the rest of the year.
From Jon Heyman’s reporting: ‘Stephen Strasburg doesn’t need to repeat the TOC surgery but has a nerve issue that’s expected to keep him out for the year. “
Strasburg did make an appearance this year in a Washington Nationals uniform for a game back in June after several rehab appearances.
On December 9, 2019, Strasburg agreed to a seven-year, $245 million contract to return to the Nationals. The $35 million annual average value of the contract was at the time the largest amount received by a pitcher in MLB history.
