The Leonsis group will most likely buy the Nationals if the MASN debacle can be solved.

It looks like there has been a front runner to purchase the Washington Nationals: the CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment: Ted Leonsis. Nationals need to resolve the MASN issue.

One of the big storylines emerging over the next few weeks and all off-season is the ownership situation for the Washington Nationals. We have been reporting all season long about the current ownership: the Lerner family is looking to sell the Washington Nationals.

There have been many rumors of likely buyers of the team, and it looks like a “likely” buyer of the team is the CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment: Ted Leonsis.

According to TalkNats [tweet link]: “Source tells us the Leonsis group is the most likely to buy the #Nats if the Rubik’s Cube known as the MASN debacle can get solved.”

BREAKING: Source tells us the Leonsis group is the most likely to buy the #Nats if the Rubik's Cube known as the MASN debacle can get solved. h/t to @PowerBoater69

It was noted by @PowerBoater69, that Leonsis would be given a final shot to buy the team if anyone outbids him.

MLB will definitely try to force a resolution of the MASN dispute as a term for approving the sale. Even without that the Os are involved in two ugly lawsuits, the MASN case and the one brother suing his family, that's going to tank the resale value if they can't clean it up.

Talk Nats is reporting that the deal to purchase the Nationals is all hinging on the team getting the MASN thing ironed out, which shouldn’t shock anyone that the MASN deal needs to be addressed sooner rather than sooner than later.
