Brad Lord was drafted by the Nationals in 2022 in the 18th round out of the University of South Florida. Lots of times, if you watch the MLB Draft, you will watch the first round and then find something else to do. Brad Lord is proving that with good scouting, a gem can be found in the later rounds. Last year, Lord started the year in Class A Wilmington and, after one start, was promoted to AA Harrisburg. Lord started 12 games for Harrisburg and did really well.
His record was eight wins and one loss, with a phenomenal ERA of 1.40. In his 23 starts, Lord also had 23 walks and 75 strikeouts for an impressive 3:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. On Sunday, June 23, Lord was promoted to Rochester and met the Red Wings in Syracuse for a Sunday afternoon game against the red-hot Syracuse Mets.
