WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Nationals today announced an extension of their official Spanish-language radio broadcast partnership with Costa Media through the 2027 season.
During the upcoming season, fans can enjoy live Spanish-language broadcasts of all Nationals games on DC 87.7 FM and La Pantera WFAX 100.7 FM/1220 AM. Coverage will include in-game play-by-play analysis, 15-minute pre- and postgame shows, in-depth organizational reporting, and player interviews.
"We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the Nationals organization and deliver first-class Spanish-language play-by-play to the DMV Latino community," said Jose Villafane, Founder and Managing Partner of Costa Media.
Returning Broadcast Team
Luciano Rodríguez and Gustavo Salazar will once again provide the Spanish-language commentary for the Nationals. Rodríguez, a 40-year veteran of D.C. Latin sports broadcasting, will handle play-by-play. Salazar, a third-generation broadcaster, will serve as the color analyst and producer.
This partnership reflects the Nationals' commitment to engaging with the Spanish-speaking community. The team annually celebrates Hispanic Heritage Day at Nationals Park. In 2024, they introduced a unique dual-language Q&A session with Salazar and Nationals players.
Furthermore, Manager Dave Martinez fosters connections through his Davey's Dugout initiative. This monthly event invites families and individuals of Hispanic heritage to participate in Q&A sessions with Martinez and Spanish-speaking players, followed by enjoying the game.
