ROCHESTER, NY- Robert Hassell III, the former #1 prospect of the San Diego Padres, is thrilled to be in Rochester and finally healthy after a two-year recovery from a hamate bone fracture suffered in the Arizona Fall League in 2022. The talented outfielder, acquired by the Washington Nationals in the blockbuster Juan Soto trade, is determined to make the most of his opportunity this season.
During Media Day at Innovative Field in Rochester, Hassell expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, saying, "It's another year of baseball that I get to do, and I'm super excited. It's my favorite part of the year where you get wrapped up in the games." After a strong showing in Spring Training, where he arrived in mid-January to develop good habits alongside big-league players, Hassell is eager to carry that momentum into the regular season with the Rochester Red Wings.
