Rochester Red Wings fall short in loss to Worcester, 9-7

The Rochester Red Wings battled hard but ultimately fell to the Worcester Red Sox in a thrilling 9-7 contest. Joey Meneses and Trey Lipscomb led the offensive charge, while Amos Willingham continued his impressive scoreless streak.

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Red Wings suffered a heartbreaking 9-7 loss to the Worcester Red Sox on Sunday afternoon at Innovative Field. Despite a late-game rally, the Wings could not overcome a strong performance from the Red Sox offense.

The Rochester Red Wings are 34-29 for the year's second half and 72-64 for the first half. They are 39-28 at Innovate Field this season. The Red Wings will finish their season series against the Worcester Red Sox with seven wins and 11 losses. Lastly, the Red Wings are now 12-11 on Sundays this season.

Leading the charge for Worcester was Wyatt Olds, who earned the win with a solid outing on the mound. Olds allowed seven runs on eight hits but managed to limit the damage and secure the victory.

The Red Wings' offense showed some life, with Joey Meneses and Trey Lipscomb leading the way. Meneses scored 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, and three runs. Lipscomb also had a strong day, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for the Red Wings. Amos Willingham continued his impressive streak, pitching a scoreless inning and extending his scoreless streak to 12 appearances.
