WASHINGTON D.C. - This morning, the Washington Nationals held a special event at Nats Park to introduce their brand-new Washington Nationals City Connect Uniforms, called the "District Blueprint." With D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and National’s favorite Ryan Zimmerman (you know him as Mr. National) on hand, the team kicked off their 20th anniversary season by showing off a design that captures the heart of Washington, D.C.’s streets and stories.

D.C. is a city built by its people, for its people. The monuments are amazing, but the streets define the city. These new City Connect uniforms celebrate everything from the city’s quadrants and wide avenues to those tricky traffic circles. The Nats summed it perfectly: “These are the streets that bring us home, and we’re proud to wear them on our hearts.”
Here’s what makes the District Blueprint stand out:
Cap and Patch Details: A sharp "W" wraps around the Capitol Dome, with cherry blossoms adding a D.C. touch on both sides. The tile background gives a shoutout to places like the Capitol Rotunda, the Library of Congress, and even the Metro’s bold stations.
DC Logo Revival: The interlocking "DC" on the chest—seen from 2006–10—gets a cool 3D update, inspired by the 1956 Washington Senators logo.
Pants Accent: A mosaic pattern runs along the white pants, reflecting how D.C.’s diverse community comes together beautifully.

Mark D. Lerner, the Nationals’ Managing Principal Owner, shared his excitement: “This season is our 20th anniversary, and my family and I are so proud of how this team has become part of D.C.’s fabric. These uniforms show how baseball unites us, and we’re thrilled to play for everyone in Washington.”
Today was about more than just a new look—it was a nod to 20 years of Nats baseball. The Nats Report caught up with Mayor Muriel Bowser at the event, where she opened up about what this milestone means. “It’s been incredible,” she said. “Baseball brought sports back to D.C. after years without it. It’s boosted the riverfront, the city’s bottom line, and our pride.” She’s hoping for more big wins ahead: “Let’s keep winning World Series—that’s what we love! I’d love to see that energy all over the city again.”
Nats fan Robert was there too, buzzing with excitement. “It’s about baseball, community, and good times,” he said. For the next 20 years, he’s got high hopes: “More victories, more memories—it’s going to be amazing!” His words really hit home—these uniforms are all about the connection between the team and its fans.

With Opening Day coming up on March 27, 2025, this look has us pumped for the season ahead. From the cherry blossoms to the mosaic details, it’s like wearing a piece of D.C. on the field.
